Life Skills Specialist

Job overview

The Life Skills Specialist role is onsite at Arnett House in Rochester, NY, with pay of $20–$21 per hour. The Center for Youth partners with young people to create opportunities, remove barriers, and promote social justice; Arnett House is a transitional living program for homeless youth who identify as LGBTQ+ or are trafficking survivors. The specialist builds trusting relationships with residents and coordinates life-skills, education, and employment programming. Through assessments, training, crisis response, and direct support, the role helps residents develop skills and healthy community connections.

What you'll do

• Provide crisis intervention and response
• supervise and support residents
• assess life-skills, employment, and education needs
• implement life-skills training and education and employment curriculum
• help maintain a safe and supportive residential program
• transport participants as required
• maintain professional boundaries
• use strength-based, trauma-informed service delivery.
