The Early Childhood Assistant Teacher role is onsite in Montclair, New Jersey, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pay is up to $18 per hour. The Montclair YMCA’s Early Learning Center supports children’s education, health, welfare, and safety. Working under the Early Childhood Group Teacher, the assistant teacher helps deliver classroom instruction and care, maintain a safe and positive environment, and support children’s learning and development.

What you'll do

• Greet children and parents
• observe children on arrival and note concerns
• assist with lessons, activities, songs, stories, and learning materials
• supervise indoor and outdoor play
• support hygiene, meals, and classroom upkeep
• document incidents and classroom records
• follow safety, confidentiality, and mandated reporting procedures.
