SOX External Audit Consultant

Job overview

The SOX External Audit Consultant role is hybrid, with six office days per month in Washington, DC, and is limited to local DMV candidates. Compensation is not specified. The consultant supports the Division of Information Technology Enterprise Services with audit, compliance, and information security work.

What you'll do

• Support annual financial statement audits, internal SOX control reviews, financial system FISMA reviews, policy and procedure updates, and compliance self-assessments
• evaluate financial applications and cloud internal-control reports, including SOC 1 and SOC 2
• assess control applicability and gaps
• develop risk control matrices and tests of design and effectiveness
• prepare audit and review documentation
• advise technology leaders on compliance and internal controls
• help develop vulnerability-reduction solutions
• provide weekly status reports
• recommend and help implement GRC tools
• design, test, and review controls
• create audit and monitoring reports.
