What you'll do

• Learn to read menus and estimate food requirements
• prepare and cook food according to production records and standardized recipes
• measure and mix ingredients
• bake, roast, broil, and steam foods under guidance
• test food for doneness
• portion and garnish orders
• prepare fruits and vegetables
• maintain work areas and equipment
• follow sanitation and safety principles
• interact courteously with customers and coworkers
• follow service, inventory, and cash control procedures.
