The Lifeguard role is onsite in Santa Monica, CA. Compensation is $19 per hour. The Santa Monica Family YMCA lifeguard helps maintain a safe and welcoming aquatic environment for members, families, guests, staff, and volunteers. The role monitors pool activity, enforces aquatics rules, responds to emergencies using trained rescue and first-aid skills, and helps keep the pool area and equipment safe and clean. Accurate records, current certifications, and courteous member service support safe YMCA programs.

What you'll do

• Monitor pool activities and enforce YMCA aquatics rules
• respond to emergencies using trained rescue techniques and first aid/CPR
• inspect pool areas, equipment, and facilities
• perform opening, closing, water testing, and routine maintenance duties
• maintain incident, attendance, chemical, and shift records
• provide member service and participate in training and drills.
