The Medical Assistant — Per Diem role is onsite at the Community Health Center of Groton in Groton, CT. Compensation is $23 per hour. The assistant provides clinical and technical support to primary care providers and supports care coordination in a patient-centered medical home. The role prepares patients and planned-care information for visits, performs and documents clinical measurements and tests, and helps maintain efficient patient flow. This work supports accurate primary care visits, continuity of care, and coordination among patients, providers, and the healthcare team.

What you'll do

• Prepare for primary care visits and use the Planned Care Dashboard with nurses and providers
• prepare patients for appointments
• document chief complaints, screening results, and vital signs
• perform CLIA-waived tests, EKG, hearing, and vision tests
• coordinate patient flow and schedule tests and referrals
• maintain supplies and medical logs
• set up and clean exam rooms
• follow infection-control and safety procedures
• maintain required CPR certification.

Why this role

Per diem role. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assistant course, and accepted medical assistant certification or registration within 90 days of hire. Requires current CPR/FPR/AED certification or accepted AHA BLS/AED certification. The posting describes a $500 sign-on payment at 90 days and an additional $500 at nine months for qualifying credentials, or $1,000 for those already registered or certified at hire.
