Patient Observation Assistant

The Patient Observation Assistant role is onsite at LVHN Hecktown Oaks in Easton, PA. Compensation is $17.00 per hour. Crothall Healthcare provides specialized support services to the healthcare industry, including patient observation. The assistant continuously observes an assigned patient and promptly communicates changes, safety concerns, or requests for help to nursing staff. The role supports patient safety and comfort through bedside presence, redirection, documentation, and assistance with basic needs under the direction of a registered nurse and unit manager.

What you'll do

• Visually and audibly monitor assigned patients
• complete observation reports
• remain at the bedside unless relieved
• redirect at-risk behavior
• promptly escalate distress, unusual behavior, or safety concerns to nursing staff
• help maintain a safe and orderly room
• accompany patients to diagnostic testing
• participate in handoffs
• assist with meal setup, positioning, and mobility when cleared by nursing staff
• respond to emergencies and follow confidentiality and department policies.
