Quality Assurance Practice Lead

The Quality Assurance Practice Lead role is hybrid, with three onsite days per week in Washington, DC. The listed rate is $60–$80 per hour for W-2 work. The role exists to establish and operate an enterprise-wide QA practice across an IT roadmap. It will standardize governance, tools, and quality measures, coach delivery teams, and provide leadership with reporting on risks, testing progress, and readiness.

What you'll do

• Review and operationalize the QA framework and manual
• define the practice operating model
• establish governance routines, reviews, and escalation mechanisms
• improve standards, templates, quality gates, metrics, dashboards, and evidence expectations
• assess QA tools and propose an integrated tool stack
• define test-management, defect-tracking, and reporting standards
• coach teams and QA engineers
• support knowledge transfer
• report on quality risks and readiness
• maintain a portfolio QA roadmap
• coordinate vendor leads and enterprise stakeholders.
