Structural Forensic Engineer (Professional Engineer)

The Structural Forensic Engineer (Professional Engineer) role is onsite in Mount Prospect, IL. Base salary is $100,000–$200,000 per year, with bonus eligibility. CTLGroup’s integrated team of engineers, architects, scientists, and consultants investigates failures and provides technical consultation, laboratory studies, and expert testimony. The engineer investigates structural problems, determines root causes, and develops actionable repair or remediation recommendations for clients. The role combines field investigation, engineering analysis, technical reporting, and collaboration to help resolve complex issues involving buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Investigate structural systems and failures
• conduct site inspections, field testing, and data collection
• analyze structural performance using calculations, modeling, codes, and standards
• prepare technical reports
• design repair or remediation plans and oversee implementation during construction
• provide expert witness testimony when required
• collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients.
