The Controller — Finance, Compliance & Systems role is onsite in Providence, RI. Compensation is $101,291–$160,000 per year. Plan International advances children’s rights and equality for girls and works with children, young people, supporters, and partners in more than 80 countries. The Controller leads accounting operations, compliance, financial reporting, and finance systems to strengthen stewardship and audit readiness. The role also modernizes reporting and data capabilities so organizational leaders can make informed decisions and support the nonprofit’s mission.

What you'll do

• Lead monthly and year-end close under U.S. GAAP
• maintain internal controls and accounting policies
• oversee general ledger, reconciliations, financial statements, accounts payable, expenses, and cash operations
• lead audits and regulatory filings
• manage NICRA and federal grant compliance
• oversee payroll
• own finance systems including Dynamics 365 Business Central and Ramp
• lead Power BI reporting and data governance
• support budgeting
• supervise and develop the accounting and finance operations team.

Why this role

Senior Leadership Team member. Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field and eight or more years of progressive accounting experience; CPA strongly preferred. Hiring is limited to listed states and DC, with strong preference for Washington, DC and Providence metro candidates.
