What you'll do

• Diagnose and treat medical conditions in dogs, cats, and small mammals
• perform medical and surgical procedures as appropriate
• maintain medical authority and responsibility for assigned patients
• determine when specialist referral is appropriate
• communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis to pet owners
• collaborate with referring veterinarians
• educate clients about care plans
• advocate for patient welfare
• work with veterinary nurses, technicians, and administrative staff
• maintain accurate medical records and comply with laws, licensing requirements, and clinic policies
• participate in continuing education.
