Controller — Renewable Energy Construction Accounting

The Controller role is office-based in Santa Cruz, CA. Compensation is $115,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience. What you'll do

• Own month-end close and financial reporting
• maintain earned-revenue and billed reporting, WIP schedules, and job-cost reports
• coordinate year-end close, tax preparation, and audit support
• manage construction job-cost accounting and revenue recognition
• oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll processing, and related compliance
• maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and fixed-asset records
• support banking, bonding, lender, and insurance relationships
• improve financial systems and processes
• oversee finance-related vendors
• manage and develop accounting staff.

Why this role

Requires five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role, plus construction accounting experience. Construction ERP experience and knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 are required.
