• Assess clients’ mental and physical health, addiction, behavior, and readiness for treatment
• help develop treatment goals and plans
• discuss treatment options and coordinate with medical and psychiatric resources
• support aftercare planning
• help clients build recovery skills and identify barriers
• educate families
• refer clients to support and other services
• and conduct outreach about addiction and destructive behavior.
