The Medical Assistant — Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) role is onsite in Fall River, MA, with travel between three health centers in Fall River as needed. Pay is $19–$21 per hour, with a $1,000 signing bonus. SSTAR’s stated mission is healing the community through healthcare and addiction treatment that addresses mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.

What you'll do

• Support patient flow by recording height, weight, and vital signs, reviewing medications, documenting chief complaints, and preparing patients. Assist physicians with exams
• provide backup Health Unit Coordinator coverage
• update clinical care guidelines in the electronic health record
• triage calls
• schedule and cancel appointments
• assist with paperwork and reports
• stock exam rooms
• dispose of biohazard waste
• use an autoclave
• and complete medication and vaccine reconciliation and depression screenings. Work one evening shift ending at 6:30 or 7:00 once per week and/or provide coverage during vacations or callouts. Use linguistic capacity when appropriate.

Why this role

SSTAR will pay the exam fee and allow 90 days after hire to obtain RMA certification for an eligible graduate who does not yet hold it.
