CNC Operator

Job overview

The CNC Operator role is onsite in Schaumburg, IL, for a few months before moving to Huntley, IL. Compensation is $18–$24 per hour. The position supports machining operations at DIA Packaging. The operator sets up, runs, and monitors CNC lathe machines to produce components to specification. The role verifies dimensions, maintains equipment and work areas, troubleshoots machine issues, and follows safety and quality requirements.

What you'll do

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathe machines
• perform turning, boring, threading, facing, drilling, reaming, and tapping operations
• read programs and perform Gibbs programming when needed
• measure workpieces and verify dimensions
• prepare tools and load stock
• verify machine settings and first-run parts
• monitor machining and replace worn tools
• report faulty equipment or defective materials
• operate lifting devices
• keep equipment and work areas clean
• follow safety and personnel policies
• work overtime as needed.

Why this role
