Personal Care Aide — Home Care

Job overview

The Personal Care Aide role is onsite in Washington, DC, providing care in clients’ homes; compensation is described as hourly rates above market, with no numeric rate specified. Decena Home Care supports clients in living safely and independently at home. The aide assists clients with daily personal care, mobility, meals, household tasks, medication reminders, companionship, and errands. By observing and reporting changes and following safety protocols, the aide helps clients maintain comfort and independence in their homes.

What you'll do

• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and safe transfers
• support ambulation, mobility aids, and therapist-directed range-of-motion routines
• prepare simple balanced meals and monitor hydration
• perform light housekeeping and laundry
• provide medication reminders and report condition changes to the supervising nurse
• offer companionship and accompany clients on outings and errands.

Why this role

Prior PCA, caregiver, HHA, or CNA experience is a plus, but the employer will train the right candidate. Requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the service area; daytime, evening, or weekend blocks are offered.
