Head Cook

The Head Cook role is onsite at Hope Learning Academies’ Glen Carbon and Edwardsville, IL campuses and pays $16.25 per hour. The cook prepares meals for students and school staff. The role exists to provide timely meals that follow menus, recipes, and individual diet guidelines while maintaining safe and sanitary kitchen operations. It also supports meal preparation and delivery across campuses and keeps food and kitchen equipment properly managed.

What you'll do

• Prepare meals according to menus, recipes, diets, and substitutions
• present menu items attractively and on time
• maintain kitchen equipment to applicable codes
• check food requests and field trips
• label and organize meals for individual diets
• maintain meal and substitution records
• prepare for the next day’s production
• rotate and store inventory
• prepare and safely transport food to the Metro East Elementary campus
• shop for groceries for both campuses twice monthly or as needed.
