The Child Care Kitchen Cook role is onsite in Medford, WI, and pays $14–$18 per hour. Sand Box Child Care & Preschool serves children from six weeks through 12 years and offers year-round, full-day care. The cook prepares nutritious meals and snacks that meet USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines and applicable state and local requirements. The role supports children’s health and the center’s daily program through safe food preparation, kitchen sanitation, supply management, and meal documentation.

What you'll do

• Inspect, prepare, cook, and handle food
• operate kitchen equipment
• plan menus and quantities to meet USDA CACFP requirements
• keep records and prepare reports
• prepare foods according to menus, recipes, and instructions
• clean kitchen and equipment
• adjust recipes to demand
• maintain supplies and rotate stock
• assist or supervise children in a classroom if a teacher is needed outside the classroom
• unload groceries
• clean staff bathrooms, hallways, and entryways
• transport school-age students to and from the bus stop.
