Nutritionist and Dietitian (Certified Diabetes Educator)

The Nutritionist and Dietitian role is onsite at the Jicarilla Service Unit in Dulce, NM, with some travel to community events. Compensation is $100,000–$140,000 per year. The role supports Indian Health Service patients through culturally appropriate nutrition and wellness practices in clinical and community settings. The nutritionist provides medical nutrition therapy and patient-centered dietary education, assessing individual needs and developing care plans. The role also supports interdisciplinary care, community education, accurate health-record documentation, quality improvement, and nutrition program development.

What you'll do

• Conduct individualized nutrition assessments and develop evidence-based care plans
• provide medical nutrition therapy for chronic diseases including diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease
• educate patients and families on healthy eating, label reading, and culturally relevant meal planning
• collaborate with healthcare professionals
• deliver group classes and community outreach
• document patient interactions in the electronic health record
• participate in quality improvement and program development
• and provide staff guidance as needed.

Why this role
