Direct Support Professional (DSP) (On-Call/PRN)

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role is onsite in Des Moines, West Des Moines, and surrounding communities, Iowa, and pays $16–$17 per hour. Link Associates is a nonprofit providing community-based services and supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP helps individuals pursue personal goals and live as independently as possible through daily-living and personal-care assistance, behavioral support, and participation in community activities. Positions are available in the Day Habilitation/Day Program and Residential departments.

What you'll do

• Encourage individuals to pursue personal goals and independence
• assist with cooking, cleaning, laundry, household chores, bathing, toileting, and feeding
• use de-escalation and coping strategies to support people with behavioral challenges
• and assist with community activities, events, and therapeutic recreation programs.
