Project Engineer, Fire Protection

Job overview

The Project Engineer, Fire Protection role is onsite in Suffolk, VA, with compensation of $60,000–$80,000 per year. The engineer supports Atlantic Constructors’ field operations on industrial projects and reports to the Director of Fire Protection – New Construction Division. The role helps project management and field teams deliver the contracted scope by coordinating project documentation, materials, schedules, safety, and client communications. It supports the project manager in addressing scope, procurement, progress, and closeout needs.

What you'll do

• Assist with permits, proposals, contracts, schedules, and change orders
• review specifications and drawings and help identify scope gaps
• prepare and track RFIs and submittals
• coordinate project materials, equipment purchases, deliveries, and invoices
• maintain schedules and tracking reports
• support field paperwork and material expediting
• notify management of safety, quality, budget, or progress issues
• coordinate meetings, minutes, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
