The Assistant Preschool Teacher, Early Childhood role is onsite in Potomac, MD, and is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m.–5:15 p.m. Pay is $18–$22 per hour. The Sherman Early Childhood Center at Congregation Har Shalom is a Jewish preschool using play, collaboration, and an emergent curriculum. The assistant teacher works with the teaching team to plan and implement learning opportunities, supervise children, and support their physical, emotional, social-emotional, and special needs. The role contributes to a safe, nurturing classroom and supports the school’s educational philosophy and family experience.

What you'll do

• Collaborate on planning, setting up, and implementing child-centered learning opportunities
• follow school, synagogue, and childcare requirements
• support children’s needs
• ensure safety through supervision and care
• communicate with teaching staff and leadership
• document student progress and incidents
• participate in team meetings and assigned family programming.
