The Toolroom Machinist role is an onsite, full-time position in Kalamazoo, MI. Compensation is not specified. The initial training schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., transitioning to Tuesday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Humphrey Products manufactures fluid control valves and precision control components for industries including medical devices, laboratory instrumentation, material handling, and transportation. The machinist makes parts from raw material and completes toolroom projects by interpreting blueprints, selecting tools and machining processes, operating equipment, and verifying finished work. The role supports production of precision components and requires independent problem-solving and collaboration in a team-oriented environment.

What you'll do

• Read blueprints and create parts from raw material
• define process steps to complete products with minimal input
• set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders
• select cutting tools and appropriate speeds and feeds
• use measuring equipment and gauges to verify work
• apply problem-solving and decision-making skills
• work in a team-oriented environment. CNC lathe and mill experience and CNC programming are a major plus.
