Senior Test Engineer – Gasification Research and Development

The Senior Test Engineer – Gasification Research and Development role is onsite at Arbor Energy’s test site in San Bernardino, CA. Base pay is $150,000–$175,000 per year. Arbor Energy develops clean, reliable baseload power systems designed for zero operating emissions and carbon-neutral power. This engineer leads the design, construction, instrumentation, commissioning, and operation of test stands for high-pressure gasification research and development. The work turns campaign objectives into safely executed tests and reliable data, while coordinating with gasifier reactor engineers and the Systems Engineering team.

What you'll do

• Lead test-stand development from concept through commissioning
• design instrumentation, sampling, and flow-control hardware for challenging service
• automate test operations and implement abort and interlock logic
• plan and direct test campaigns, including startup and shutdown
• develop test plans, P&IDs, and operating procedures with engineering teams
• troubleshoot issues to root cause
• maintain test-site procedures and safety practices
• participate in process hazard analyses.
