What you'll do

• Answer calls and greet in-person customers
• direct callers to the appropriate professional or department
• schedule patient appointments and maintain provider scheduling preferences
• obtain and verify billing and insurance information
• complete required forms and documentation
• collect payments and co-pays and maintain the cash drawer
• route release-of-information forms to Health Information Management
• direct clinical questions, faxes, and requests to nursing professionals
• receive and disburse mail
• request office supplies and minor equipment
• follow safety, infection-control, confidentiality, and organizational policies.
