Job overview

The Research Assistant – Multi-Site Study Operations role is onsite in North Chicago, IL, with local travel to field and partner locations expected. Compensation is $23.08 per hour. The role supports the Human Performance Laboratory and CLEAR on a Department of Defense-funded study of urinary biomarkers related to bone adaptation and injury in military recruits. The position coordinates study operations across sites and timepoints, helping the research team collect reliable participant, specimen, and study data while maintaining protocol, regulatory, and safety compliance. It contributes to the project’s work to identify and validate biomarkers of healthy bone adaptation and bone stress injury.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate participant scheduling, communication, visit preparation, and flow across sites
  • support approved recruitment, briefings, consent, and screening as delegated
  • collect and document field data and handle urine biospecimens
  • label, aliquot, store, transport, and track samples
  • enter and verify study data and resolve or escalate discrepancies
  • maintain participant, regulatory, equipment, and study records
  • prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
  • coordinate site logistics and scheduling
  • complete required training and support reporting and dissemination as assigned.
