The After-School Care Assistant — Grades 5–8 role is onsite in Charlottesville, VA. Pay is $16 per hour. The assistant supports St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s Saints After School program, which serves students in grades 5–8. The role provides supervision and engagement during after-school activities, helping maintain a safe, positive environment and supporting students’ transitions, play, and projects. It also contributes to orderly program operations and student arrival and dismissal.

What you'll do

• Supervise and engage with children’s play and projects
• assist with group activities and transitions
• prepare materials, classroom supplies, and snacks
• monitor playground and other activities for safety
• keep classroom and play areas organized
• assist with safe student arrival and dismissal
• report problems involving children to the director
• build relationships with students
• and support employee childcare on teacher workdays and at the start and end of the academic year.

Why this role

Part-time work is generally 2:30–5:30 p.m. each weekday, with some flexibility on start time. There may be opportunities to work full days on teacher workdays.
