The Director of Human Resources role is onsite in Somerville, MA, with annual compensation of $110,000–$140,000. The ADA Forsyth Institute advances oral and overall health through research, clinical technologies, and public health outreach, while continuing its dental program for children in need. The director leads the Institute’s HR function, advising senior leaders and supporting employees while overseeing day-to-day HR programs. Effective workforce planning, employee support, compliance, and HR operations help the organization serve its research, clinical, educational, and administrative missions.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary HR resource and lead day-to-day HR operations
• partner with executives and department leaders on workforce needs and HR strategy
• advise managers on employee relations, performance, staffing, compensation, and organizational changes
• manage or coordinate workplace investigations
• lead performance management
• oversee recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, and offboarding
• coordinate compensation, benefits, retirement, payroll-related processes, and HRIS
• develop and communicate policies
• ensure employment-law compliance
• manage leaves and accommodations
• coordinate employment-related immigration matters
• support engagement, recognition, training, and organizational culture
• use HR data to inform decisions.
