What you'll do

• Assess and document assigned patients
• identify immediate needs and establish daily goals
• assess allergies and apply infection-control techniques
• monitor pre- and post-operative vital signs and recovery
• complete Phase I and/or II records
• confirm surgical outcomes with anesthesia
• document patient progress
• and communicate incidents to appropriate staff. Shifts vary between four 10-hour or three 13-hour shifts, flexing between pre-op and post-op based on the surgical schedule. The role includes weekday overnight call, one 24-hour weekend call shift in a six-week rotation, and some holiday call.
