Job overview
The Direct Support Recovery Worker role is onsite in Portland, ME, with a stated pay range of $21.50–$22.50 per hour and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for new hires. The position provides direct services at Spurwink’s Portland facility to support the recovery lifestyle of people living in the program. The worker supports residents with daily living tasks, admissions and discharges, community-resource connections, and structured recreational or therapeutic activities. The role also includes medication administration, coordination with families or guardians as needed, and maintaining client records to support quality assurance.
What you'll do
- Support residents with activities of daily living
- assist with client admissions and discharges
- connect clients with appropriate community resources
- develop and implement assigned structured, recreational, or therapeutic activities
- communicate and coordinate with family members or guardians as necessary
- maintain client records
- administer client medications and support a therapeutic co-occurring milieu
- attend weekly program staff meetings and other team meetings as needed.

People in recovery or with lived experience are welcome to apply. A high school diploma or equivalent, current driver’s license, clean driving record, and at least one year of mental health or substance-use experience are required; MHRT1 certification must be obtained within one year.
