Product Security Architect

Job overview

The Product Security Architect role is onsite in Fremont, CA three days per week, with plans to transition to five onsite days per week. Pay is $60–$70 per hour. The role leads product security across hardware, embedded systems, firmware, and cloud-connected energy products. The architect establishes security architecture, testing, compliance, and vulnerability-management practices for connected products. The work includes securing device boot and communications, guiding regulatory compliance, coordinating testing and remediation, and collaborating across firmware, hardware, cloud, QA, and product teams.

What you'll do

• Architect secure boot chains and hardware root-of-trust solutions
• design ARM TrustZone isolation
• audit JTAG/SWD interfaces
• establish device identity and key lifecycle management
• strengthen PLC encryption and device-to-cloud authentication
• design secure OTA update pipelines and firmware hardening
• lead CRA and RED Delegated Act compliance and certification coordination
• develop product security testing strategies
• manage PSIRT, CVE tracking, remediation SLAs, and coordinated disclosure
• coordinate penetration testing
• lead threat modeling and security design reviews
• secure PLC, CAN bus, BLE, Wi-Fi, and network interfaces
• and establish security architecture standards with cross-functional teams.
