Electrical Field Test Technician (NETA Levels I–IV)

The Electrical Field Test Technician (NETA Levels I–IV) role is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA, with pay of $41.00–$80.20 per hour depending on experience and certification level. The union field technicians test, commission, and maintain electrical power equipment serving substations, industrial plants, and data centers. The role helps keep power infrastructure safe and reliable by inspecting and testing equipment, commissioning installations, documenting results, and identifying issues before they become failures. Level III–IV technicians also lead jobsites, coordinate with customers, and mentor junior technicians.

What you'll do

• Test, inspect, and maintain medium- and high-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, and cable
• operate high-voltage test equipment
• commission installations and verify readiness to energize
• support planned outages and respond to emergency calls
• document test results and flag issues
• follow NFPA 70E and site safety practices. Level III–IV technicians lead jobsites, coordinate with customers, and mentor apprentices and junior technicians.
