Overnight Awake Direct Care Support Staff

The Overnight Awake Direct Care Support Staff role is onsite in Asheville, NC. Compensation is not specified. The position supports CooperRiis’s therapeutic healing mission for people whose lives are affected by mental health challenges or mental illness. The role provides overnight safety monitoring and support to residents who are awake in the late evening and early morning, including help with healthy sleep routines and recovery. Staff also complete facility rounds, assist with community spaces, administer routine and as-needed medications as directed, and respond to emerging needs with clinical and residential colleagues.

What you'll do

• Conduct hourly rounds to help assure facility safety and security
• support residents who are awake and promote healthy sleep hygiene
• assist with cleaning and organizing community spaces
• learn residents’ goals and build rapport
• work with residential and clinical staff when residents need special care
• administer routine and PRN medications and attend medication-administration training
• respond to critical needs or crises as directed.
