What you'll do

• Tend molten aluminum furnaces
• regulate temperatures and charge the correct mixture and alloy
• weigh and load metal by hand or equipment
• degas and test molten metal
• apply flux and skim slag
• transfer molten metal to pots
• clean furnaces and equipment
• regulate fuel, air, or electrical controls
• take and record melt samples and data
• report problems or inconsistencies
• and perform housekeeping and assigned safety-related tasks.
