Preschool Assistant Teacher

The Preschool Assistant Teacher role is onsite in Baton Rouge, LA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The starting pay is $10–$13 per hour, with the rate based on experience. The assistant supports Family Worship Center’s preschool in maintaining a Christian atmosphere where children are cared for and encouraged developmentally. The assistant helps lead teachers maintain safe, orderly classrooms and supports children’s daily care, meals, transitions, and activities so the preschool can provide consistent care throughout the day.

What you'll do

• Help lead teachers maintain order during classroom, transition, meal, and playground times
• assist with children’s hygiene, diapering, and potty time
• plate and serve meals and snacks
• maintain a clean and safe classroom
• perform light housekeeping and sanitation
• provide lunch coverage and substitute for teacher absences
• assist with emergency evacuations
• follow preschool policies and licensing regulations
• attend required training.

Why this role
