Group Leader — After-School Program, Brooklyn is an onsite role in New York, NY. Pay is $18–$19 per hour, for up to 20 hours per week during the September–June school year. Good Shepherd Services’ program supports youth development through after-school activities. The group leader oversees participant safety and development, plans and facilitates educational and recreational activities, and works with families, school personnel, and program staff to support participants’ growth and engagement.

What you'll do

• Supervise and manage an assigned participant group
• engage youth in activities and model appropriate behavior
• develop and facilitate sequenced curriculum, arts and crafts, and group-building activities
• integrate academic subjects when applicable
• build relationships with participants, families, colleagues, and school personnel
• support activity instructors and group leaders
• track participant development and attendance
• ensure safe arrival and dismissal
• address group conflicts and report concerns
• support culminating events and maintain required records.

Why this role

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 2 p.m.–6 p.m., during the school year, with availability for holidays and OST days and Saturday or evening staff trainings. A high school diploma or GED and one year of related youth-group experience are required.
