Medical Coding Specialist, Flexible Schedule

The Medical Coding Specialist role is onsite in Austin, TX. Compensation is $20–$22 per hour. The position supports coding and charge entry at Aspire Allergy & Sinus. The role translates post-visit medical records into accurate codes and claims for insurer processing. It supports timely reimbursement and accurate documentation by working with providers and staff to resolve missing information and coding issues.

What you'll do

• Review medical records and apply coding and billing guidelines
• assign ICD-10 and other relevant codes
• correct claim errors identified by claims-editing software
• perform manual charge entry as needed
• upload claims to the practice management system or clearinghouse
• protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
• collaborate with providers and staff
• discuss coding guidelines and provide training as needed
• report emerging trends.

Why this role

Flexible schedule options include four 10-hour shifts with Monday or Friday off, a Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM schedule, or an early 7:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule. No evenings, weekends, or major holidays are required.
