The Behavioral Health Technician – Primary Mental Health role is onsite in Newport Beach, CA, with a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The stated pay range is $21–$29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. First Responder Wellness provides residential and intensive outpatient treatment and resiliency support for first responders. The technician provides direct care in detox and residential treatment programs, supporting residents’ safety, recovery, and daily needs while communicating observations and changes to the clinical team and contributing to coordinated treatment.

What you'll do

• Provide direct resident care in a safe, structured, recovery-oriented environment
• assist with admissions, orientation, screenings, and intake
• monitor physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being and report significant changes
• document observations, interventions, and progress in the EHR
• support trauma-informed crisis intervention and de-escalation
• perform permitted basic health screenings, vital signs, first aid, and urinalysis collections
• follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures
• assist with meal service
• transport residents to appointments and approved activities as needed
• collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
