The Medical Assistant II role is onsite in Oakland, CA. Compensation is $25.54–$27.53 per hour. The position provides advanced clinical support at Roots Community Health Center, including workflow coordination, mentoring, quality improvement, and regulatory support. The MA II performs core medical assistant duties while serving as a clinical resource for other assistants. The role supports patient flow, clinical documentation, care-team coordination, and quality and regulatory readiness in the clinic.

What you'll do

• Prepare exam rooms, room patients, obtain vital signs, document histories and chief complaints, and prepare patients for visits
• perform EKGs, audiometry, immunizations, blood draws, specimen collection, and basic testing as applicable
• assist clinicians with exams, follow-up, referrals, and patient education as directed
• mentor and orient medical assistants
• support clinic operations, workflow improvements, chart audits, quality improvement, and regulatory readiness.
