Electrical Engineer — Ship Design

The Electrical Engineer role is based in Mobile, AL, with remote or hybrid arrangements possible at the customer’s discretion. The stated salary range is $90,000–$130,000 per year. The engineer supports the PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management team on assigned ship and craft programs. The role provides electrical engineering expertise across ship design, construction, installation, testing, maintenance, and upgrades. It contributes to safe, reliable, and integrated shipboard electrical systems and provides technical guidance to junior engineers.

What you'll do

• Analyze electrical systems and contribute to concept and feasibility studies
• support contract and detail design and construction
• participate in in-service design and engineering for maintenance and upgrades
• support shipboard installations and testing
• conduct special studies
• design and analyze power distribution systems
• coordinate electrical integration with other disciplines
• ensure compliance with electrical safety standards
• optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability
• mentor junior electrical engineers.

Why this role

Requires a current SECRET clearance verifiable in DISS or ability to obtain an interim SECRET clearance, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and at least seven years of ship design and construction experience. A master’s degree and Professional Engineer license are preferred.
