Transmission Line Design Engineer

The Transmission Line Design Engineer role is hybrid eligible in Maple Grove, MN. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports high-voltage transmission line projects for a client described as a leading electric utility cooperative. The role develops safe, reliable, and cost-effective line designs and coordinates engineering work with construction, permitting, land-rights, and field operations teams. Project management and technical support help move transmission projects from design through completion.

What you'll do

• Design overhead 69 kV and 115 kV transmission lines
• develop drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• perform structural, loading, and clearance calculations to NESC standards
• use PLS-CADD and MFAD
• support permitting, construction, and project completion
• coordinate with relevant teams
• manage smaller projects’ schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• support engineering standards and specifications.

Why this role
