Elementary Special Education Teacher

The teacher develops and delivers individualized instruction to help students progress toward their educational goals. The role coordinates with school staff, families, administrators, and on-site therapists to plan, monitor, and support each student’s learning and classroom needs.

What you'll do

• Create and carry out Individualized Education Plans
• communicate student progress and challenges to staff and family members
• prepare lesson plans for administrator approval
• participate in scheduled IEP meetings
• use individualized reinforcement techniques
• invite families to participate in educational progress
• prepare quarterly progress reports
• consult on-site therapists about behavioral and disciplinary issues
• maintain a safe, productive classroom.
