Job overview
The Life Skills Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Hyde Park, NY, supporting In Flight's ISAIL program at The Lonely Worm Farm. Compensation is $18.75–$21.25 per hour. In Flight supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in pursuing meaningful lives and greater independence. The role helps participants build daily living, community integration, social, and employment skills in line with individualized service plans. Through instruction, supervision, and protective oversight, the professional supports self-advocacy, choice, and independence at home and in the community.
What you'll do
- Support people in achieving outcomes in individualized service plans
- assist and supervise in their chosen environments
- support community integration and program planning
- teach personal hygiene and daily living skills
- help participants use community resources, shop, manage money, and travel by train and bus
- support self-advocacy, social skills, and community and home safety
- document services promptly
- attend monthly supervision and required training.
