Lead Data Engineer

The Lead Data Engineer role is hybrid, with three days onsite in Charlotte, NC. The stated W-2 rate is $85.00 to $95.00 per hour. The role supports a client’s enterprise data platform work and partners with developers, data scientists, architects, product owners, and stakeholders. The lead engineer owns architecture and delivery of scalable AWS data platforms, including data lakes, warehouses, and resilient pipelines. The role provides technical leadership, establishes engineering standards, and advances data quality, governance, security, and observability, including support for AI-ready pipelines.

What you'll do

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of AWS data solutions
• partner with technical and business stakeholders
• mentor data engineers
• drive scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable architecture
• oversee data lakes and warehouses
• establish standards for data modeling, ETL, reliability, monitoring, and operations
• oversee production support and root-cause analysis
• champion data quality, governance, observability, and stewardship
• identify modernization opportunities.
