Leasing Specialist — Slate

The Leasing Specialist works onsite at The Slate at Gray’s Landing in Des Moines, Iowa. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; compensation is $19–$21 per hour. The role supports leasing and management of a 132-unit market-rate 55+ housing community. The specialist guides prospective residents through apartment inquiries, tours, applications, and move-in processes while maintaining accurate records and meeting occupancy and compliance benchmarks. The role also supports resident relations and compliance with applicable housing requirements.

What you'll do

• Respond to prospect calls and internet leads
• schedule appointments and show apartments
• screen applicants and verify application completeness
• explain application forms
• offer units to approved applicants
• conduct move-in orientations
• coordinate resident transfers
• update property management systems and records
• support occupancy and rent-collection benchmarks
• follow housing laws and compliance requirements
• maintain resident and community relations.
